BMW To Revive Isetta?
The board has now decided: this auto will be launched on the market as a sub-brand of BMW. Built in the ’50s and ’60s, the original BMW Isetta was a hugely popular minicar in its day. A similar car with a BMW badge is bound to steal some sales. I’d love one of the original cars, very expensive nowadays though. There was one with a Hayabusa engine in it a few years ago at Santa Pod.
Depends on the desire to make it happen, and that desire must be teased and teased to the public by BMW and Gordon’s marketing department. Sell us the dream, make us want it first, make us demand it second.
More intriguing by a million miles is the news that it will share a Fiat floorpan based on some past machine.
It was named after Mickey Mouse.
