Vehicle Recycling FAQs

Each of the following Vehicle Recycling FAQs are answered in detail below...

Read these FAQs to better understand the pickup process and how recycling may benefit you and the environment.

1. I have a 1992 Olds (98 Regency) that is not working, what can you do for me?

2. One question? I'm kinda attached to my old Betsy. What will happen to my car after you receive it? Will it be destroyed? Will it be resold? Will it go to parts? I am sentimental and would like to see it go to parts or resale rather than the crusher?

3. Do I have to pay any towing charges, or anything at all? I'm not interested if I have to pay anything.

4. My '91 Mitsubishi Mirage does not run. It needs a new engine and has some other problems (sun roof leaks water, sagging roof fabric, no A/C, etc.). Would you be interested in picking it up?

5. I have a Toyota Tercel that is not running and has been impounded. Do I have to pay the impound fees myself, before you'll tow it away?

6. I have a 1989 Chrysler LeBaron that I want to get rid of. It runs but not well and it didn't pass the emissions test. Will you take it?

7. Roughly, what is your turnaround time from the point of me submitting the Vehicle Disposal Form to the point at which someone picks up my truck?

8. Would you be interested in a 87 Plymouth Voyager Van? It still runs, but its registration has expired.

9. What if we don't have the title on a car? Our car was sold to us by the family who owned it in New York for $1.00, but we have lost all its paper records.

10. I will be out of town when I need my car picked up. I figure I'll leave the signed-off title and keys with my neighbor - Jimmy - or can I just leave everything in the glove box?

11. I was reluctant to send you the Vehicle Disposal Form, so I'm emailing you to get some questions answered.

Vehicle Recycling FAQs

1. I have a 1992 Olds (98 Regency) that is not working, what can you do for me?

A lot. Often a non-running car has more value in the recycling program than as a donation. The choice is always yours. First we'll tow your Olds away, free of charge, handle the transfer of ownership (with receipt of your signed-off title), and then send you on a wonderful vacation.

2. One question? I'm kinda attached to my old Betsy. What will happen to my car after you receive it? Will it be destroyed? Will it be resold? Will it go to parts? I am sentimental and would like to see it go to parts or resale rather than the crusher?

Your old vehicle will not be junked.

Your vehicle will be picked up free of charge and towed to a dealer's auction, where it will be wholesaled to authorized and licensed automobile dealers. The dealers will then invest money into detailing, making the vehicle mechanically sound and offering a 60 to 90 day warranty on it as it is being proudly displayed on their lots to the retail public.

In this way the vehicle is not "junked". Our country's resources are not wasted. The vehicle is recycled which helps everyone and improves the environment.

3. Do I have to pay any towing charges, or anything at all? I'm not interested if I have to pay anything.

No. You pay nothing; we do all the paying.

We pay for the towing of your vehicle ($125 - $150.00) plus storage and paperwork transfers...and...send you hundreds (or thousands) of dollars in grocery, film, airline coupons, plus free vacations and cruises. (see Vacation/Cruises)

4. My '91 Mitsubishi Mirage does not run. It needs a new engine and has some other problems (sun roof leaks water, sagging roof fabric, no A/C, etc.). Would you be interested in picking it up?

Yes, even though there is very little market for non-running vehicles.

Dealers and individual buyers, alike, are afraid of non-running cars, because it is usually difficult to determine how much money it will take to make such vehicles mechanically sound. Frequently the towing charges for non-running vehicles will surpass their selling prices. We still, however, take chances on non-runners, always hoping for the clean one that can be put into warranty condition, relatively cheaply.

5. I have a Toyota Tercel that is not running and has been impounded. Do I have to pay the impound fees myself, before you'll tow it away?

Yes. For us to absorb both impound fees and towing charges on a non-running vehicles would definitely put us in the hole. We just can't take on both of these costs and stay in business, our profit margin is too thin to do so.

Why not pay the impound (or repair) fees and take advantage of our FREE towing service? Then you and a loved one, can enjoy yourselves at one of our fabulous vacation destinations and maybe even receive Airline Ticket Discounts, good on all seven major airlines. This way, you'll stay way ahead in the used-vehicle disposal game. (See Vacation/Cruises).

6. I have a 1989 Chrysler LeBaron that I want to get rid of. It runs but not well and it didn't pass the emissions test. Will you take it?

Yes. We'll pick up your car, even though such vehicles do not sell for much, as they commonly need extensive work to bring them up to governmental standards. Typically, the cost for such work will exceed what buyers will consider to be the vehicle's fair market value, even when such vehicles are brought to perfect running order.

7. Roughly, what is your turnaround time from the point of me submitting the Vehicle Disposal Form to the point at which someone picks up my truck?

1-3 days is our norm. Vehicles parked well removed from metro areas can take longer. We have however, picked up vehicles on the same day we received their Vehicle Disposal Forms, although those cases are not typical. We shoot for two days and we are proud to say that is customary for us. Of the vehicle disposal services on the net, we can safely boast, "we are the fastest."

8. Would you be interested in a 87 Plymouth Voyager Van? It still runs, but its registration has expired.

Yes. Expired registrations cause additional paper work expenses, but that will not be of concern to you, as we make re-registrations and all paperwork transfers cost and hassle free for you.

9. What if we don't have the title on a car? Our car was sold to us by the family who owned it in New York for $1.00, but we have lost all its paper records.

In some cases we can pick up vehicles without titles.

Please fill out and submit to us our Vehicle Recycling Form. That completed form will help us to determine if and how best we may serve you.

10. I will be out of town when I need my car picked up. I figure I'll leave the signed-off title and keys with my neighbor - Jimmy - or can I just leave everything in the glove box?

In many cases, owners do not have to be present with their vehicles when those vehicles are picked up.

Your signed off title and keys, however, do have to be present.

How those mechanics are worked out has to be determined when the towing company calls you. We pay for the towing, but those particulars, and scheduling, have to be worked out between you and them when the towing company calls you.

11. I was reluctant to send you the Vehicle Disposal Form, so I'm emailing you to get some questions answered.

You may always email us with any questions you may have.

But remember, completing and sending to us the Vehicle Recycling Form does not obligate you in anyway, yet we need that completed form to more accurately answer your questions.

So, please, fill out our Vehicle Disposal Form, as best you can, then pose the questions you have, on the form itself. Then hit your submit button.

Then you'll receive a prompt and informed reply to all your questions from our E-mail Council. Our E-mail Council knows all.

Please fill out the Vehicle Recycling Form to get started.

"Service to others", was Allen Price's motto; a briefly stated sentiment, but so appropriate of his character.
In many ways Allen Price embodied all the people you have ever known who have had a positive influence on your life; perhaps he or she was a coach, a teacher, a grand-parent, parent or friend. Do you remember what they said that has stayed with you for a lifetime?
We remember, Uncle Allen, and his, "service to others" is still our motto, and this website does just that.
Read our words carefully and we think you'll agree that we offer a terrific alternative to the hassles, expense and legal entanglements that, too often, come with trade-ins and private sales of used vehicles.
